WABI TV5 Interview

GENIE FRANCIS IS EXCHANGING SOAP OPERA DRAMA IN HOLLYWOOD FOR A HOME FURNISHING STORE IN BELFAST.
We've been coming to Maine for summers for six years now and when we came back from England, we just decided, you know, we'd settle here.

SHE'S NOT ONLY SETTLING HERE. SHE'S OPENING UP SHOP WITH "THE CHERISHED HOME".A STORE IN AN 1850s-ERA FARMHOUSE THAT OFFERS ITEMS TO SPRUCE UP HOMES.
These are the things that are really hot and popular in big cities and I wanted Maine to have that.

THIS BUSINESS VENTURE GIVES FRANCIS A CHANCE TO EXPLORE YET ANOTHER PASSION OF HERS.
I love design--had I not had so much success as an actress, I'm sure I would've gone into that field. I've been wanting to do this for a very long time. I mean, ask any of my friends on General Hospital and I've been threatening to retire to the country and be an antiques dealer--I've been doing that for years.

IN THE COMING YEARS, FRANCIS SEES HERSELF SPENDING MOST OF HER TIME IN MAINE WITH HER HUSBAND AND TWO KIDS.
I like normal life--I really do. I think it's better for kids and I think kids that get everything too soon have nothing to look forward to.

NOW, FRANCIS LOOKS FORWARD TO GETTING HER STORE UP AND RUNNING AND RETURNING TO "GENERAL HOSPITAL" AFTER A FOUR-YEAR HIATUS.
Laura's been in a coma and I suppose they decided to let her wake up, which is very exciting for me.

BUT SHE WON'T BE GONE LONG. SHE SAYS BELFAST IS NOW HER HOME. FOR GOOD.
We're very happy here.
