(An excerpt from a Kin interview in Soap Opera Digest, July 24, 1990)
Kin’s most novel idea however, involves a dream storyline on General Hospital. “I’d bring back Genie Francis, and bring Scotty and Laura back to where they originally started,” he suggests. “Laura was the big love of Scotty’s life that ruined him forever. It’s the relationship that jaded him and screwed him up. In this storyline, Laura would realize she made a mistake marrying Luke, come to me to file for a divorce and we’d begin again with the young love we first had. Sort of a Scotty-and-Laura Thirtysomething. I think it’d be a lot of fun.”

GH Executive Producer Wendy Riche took advantage of the last days of
summer to throw a picnic and softball game for the
good folks in Port Charles. ... "Genie and Kin spent
the whole afternoon talking," confides another GH-er
who attended. So... did this person happen to
overhear their conversation? "Kin's been very vocal
about his unhappiness on the show lately, so they
probably talked about that. Of course, people here
[at GH] hope he doesn't leave. But most of us think
he's got a great job and a great life and he's crazy
to complain." Shriner certainly looked happy enough
in his photo with his on-screen ex-wife, taken at the
picnic. His team must have won.
