[Tad gets off elevator.] Juan Pablo: And if I may say, that color -- more alluring on you than black. Tad: What, more compliments? [Liza and Juan Pablo turn around.] Liza: Tad. Tad: Liza. Seņor. Liza: So nice of you to drop by unannounced and looking so dressed up. Tad: You don't like the color? [He shows off his threads.] Juan Pablo: [To Liza] If I'm going to make contact with the bank in Buenos Aires, I should go. I'm staying at the Valley Inn, if you need me. [He kisses her hand.] Liza: Oh, I'll be in touch. [Juan Pablo leaves.] Tad: God, he's good. I hate him. What does he do for an encore -- ride off the elevator in a white horse? Liza: You know, what do you want? Tad: I want to make sure you're not falling for his act. But you are, aren't you? Liza: I know what I'm doing. Tad: You know what he's doing? Not too long ago he was shacked up with Greenlee in a not-so-sleazy motel in Atlantic City. Liza: Yeah, I know. And she's lucky she had him with her. Tad: Can't you see he's working every single one of you? Liza: You know, you -- you sound jealous. He's been a perfect gentleman. He's been kind and considerate and listening on every occassion. Tad: Come on! You are smarter than this. At least you always were. Liza: You know what? Why don't you just go? Just go and get out and don't come back 'til you have an open mind. Tad: I have an open mind. There's nothing wrong with my mind, or my gut, and both are telling me something's way off about Juan Pablo and his toreador routine, whatever that is. Liza: Bull. Tad: Exactly. Liza: Prove it. Tad: Okay, I will. [He leaves.] |
