There's no reason to go there just yet, all right? [He hugs Krystal.] Adam: [To Liza] Krystal seems to be very much a part of this picture. Sure you don't me to make the Carey women disappear? JR: I've been trying Babe all night. Tad: It'll be all right. Krystal: I just have a bad feeling about this. I got a scary, bad feeling about this. Tad: Have a little faith. Adam: [To Liza] You better stop this hug fest and get me Krystal's secret, or your chances with Tad are going, going, gone. Liza: Would you stop this? Can't you see that something is wrong? Krystal: How could you let her go out in this, J.R.? Did it slip your mind that she's pregnant? Kendall: Don't blame J.R., okay? Bianca was really upset, and Babe was just trying to help her. Krystal: Oh, great, just what a pregnant woman needs when she's caught in a deluge -- another pregnant woman. Kendall: Look, there's safety in numbers, right? Babe and Bianca are together, so that doubles the odds that they're okay. Krystal: They could be stranded somewhere. They could be stuck in some mudslide or God knows what else! Adam: Are you saying my grandchild could be in danger? JR: Your grandchild and my wife, Dad. Krystal: Look, I'm not going to sit here and wait for bad news to come knocking. I'm going to go -- Tad: No, you -- you can't. You're not going anywhere. Krystal: I've got to go find my little girl! Tad: You can't -- you can't find her! How are you going to do that without a powerboat and a chain saw? Krystal, I'm sorry. The roads are flooded. They got downed trees all over the place, not to mention power lines ready to zap you into the afterlife. If you take off now, there's a better than even chance that you'll end up stranded or worse. Krystal: I'm thinking about Babe and her little one and Bianca and hers. I'm not going to just abandon them to the fates! JR: Krystal, I've already contacted the local police. I've told them to keep an eye out for Babe's car. Adam: Derek Frye couldn't find his own behind with a flashlight and a map. I'm going to contact Governor Brooks myself, tell him to alert the State Police. [Liza is on the phone. Tad and Krystal are talking. Adam walks back in.] Adam: Damn and blast! Tad: Don't tell me your pal the Governor gave you the busy signal? Adam: He's addressing an emergency session of the state legislature. Tad: So much for friends in high places. Adam: But I've emailed my security team. They are out looking for Babe and Bianca right now. Tad: Excellent. You hear that? Cavalry's on the way. That means that those girls will be found. Krystal: Found how? What if help's too late? I mean, what if Babe and Bianca -- Tad: Hey, aren't you the one that's always bragging to me about how you taught your daughter she could get through anything -- Krystal: Yeah, so -- Tad: And land sunny-side up? Krystal: Why? Tad: You're not about to lose Babe or your grandchild. Krystal: If you say so. Tad: Yeah, I do. Excuse me for a minute. I'm going to head out, see if I can get a signal, make a call to the hospital. You going to be okay? Krystal: Yeah, I'll just -- I'll clean this up. Adam: [To Liza] Now's your chance to get Tad alone. Liza: What happened to all your worries about your grandchild? Adam: Dogs know enough to come in out of the rain, but not Babe. She's the reason I'm worried about my grandchild. But mark my words -- the minute that baby comes, she's not going to be around long enough to endanger his life again. Liza: Just as long as you get the kid. Adam: That's the plan. But I still need Krystal's secret to send Babe packing the minute the baby arrives. Liza: So you're just really concerned about the child's welfare? Adam: And yours. If Babe goes, then Krystal goes. And you'll be able to throw yourself at Tad to your heart's content. Liza: You know, I'm going to go see if anybody needs any help. [Tad comes in from outside.] Tad: [About the cell phone] Worthless. Liza: Ahem. Yeah, it just seems to be one of those days. Tad: I can't get anything but a busy signal. Liza: Funny. Neither can I. Tad: Oh. Listen, I hope you're okay with the two of us taking some time off -- at least until I get my head together. Liza: No, fine. I mean, I wish you would've been honest with me -- that you were taking a hiatus from me and Simone to be with Krystal. Tad: Liza, that's not true. Liza: Really? Because it seems like the two of you share a pretty special bond. Tad: No, there's no special bond. It's just that she's sitting in the living room thinking she may have lost her daughter. As a loving mother, I thought you'd understand that. Liza: Oh. [She walks away.] [Krystal comes up to Tad.] Tad: Well, at least there's some good news -- looks like the rain's letting up a little bit. Krystal: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get out there. Tad: No, no, no, Krystal, I want you to stay here. Krystal: Well, where are you headed that I can't go, too? Tad: I thought I would go over to the hospital and check on my father, make sure he's okay -- and my mother. Krystal: No. Uh-uh. No, you're going to check with Dr. Joe at the hospital because you think that Babe is racked up there fighting for her life. Tad: I don't think that. Honestly. I just thought I would eliminate the slim-to-none chance that she may have been brought in. And because I can't get a signal out, I just -- I want to go check for myself. Krystal: Don't expect me to wait here biting my fingernails. If you're going somewhere, I'm going with you. [She heads out the door. Tad is walking out, and sees Liza. They share a look, then Tad leaves.] |
